Yahoo Worst Search Engine China Censor

Seth Finkelstein writes “Reporters Without Borders said it found Yahoo! to be the clear worst
offender in censorship tests the organisation carried out on Chinese
versions of Internet search engines Yahoo!, Google, MSN as well as
their local competitor Baidu. The testing threw up significant
variations in the level of filtering. While yahoo.cn censors results
as strictly as baidu.cn, search engines google.cn and the beta version
of msn.cn (beta.search.msn.com.cn) let through more information from
sources that are not authorised by the authorities.”

    I had to explain to a coworker today that Comcast was a company and broadband was a product. Do we really need another word in our vocabulary?

    Nobody’s forcing you to use it.

    For that matter, I don’t think broadband is a product. It’s a variety of a service, namely internet access. Which isn’t a product either. I can’t go into Best Buy and say “Sell me a broadband.” (Not true: I can, and they’ll presumably either pitch a broadband access service agreement, which would buy me a service, or a broadband router, which would buy me a product that’s useless without the service.)
