Yahoo tests new search layout

CNET Says Yahoo is testing a new layout for search results that packs more paid listings onto a page, a move that could increase its revenue and provide a big boost for its paid search partner, Overture Services. With a Home Page that is mostly ads, it\’s good to see they\’re looking for places to put more, the pop-ups really don\’t provide me with the amount of advertising I need while I\’m searching.

I don\’t have enough advertising in my life and it would be super if they could find a way to show me more. They seem to be well targeted too, a search for \”librarian\” gave me a sponsor match for \”Hypnosis, Subliminal & Sleep Learning.\”

\”There is unmonetized revenue out there,\” Rashtchy said. \”Yahoo has realized that they have hit a gold pot here, but they\’ve only scratched the surface and they want to dig much deeper to get more gold.\”

I miss the Good Old Days.
