WV librarian recovering after being shot at school

The Capital High teacher who was shot in the abdomen during a school board meeting has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, hospital and school system officials said.

“She’s doing quite well,” said Capital High Principal Clinton Giles. “Her injuries weren’t really severe.”

Karen Taylor was released from Charleston Area Medical Center’s General Hospital on Friday, a hospital operator said. Taylor was treated for the bullet wound she suffered when a man opened fire in a Kanawha County school board meeting Thursday evening.
