Whose rights are we protecting?

Here\’s One from The NJ Ledger that says two freight trains are on the same track headed towards each other, and the point of collision will likely be your public library. She says she\’s amazed that we are so dazzled by a new technology we forget the existence of long-held societal beliefs, and we are forgetting the right of a child to go to a library free from inappropriate sexual images.

\”We long ago established that libraries could exert care in the books they select for purchase. There has never been much of an argument that they are \”censoring\” information by refusing to purchase porn. In fact, we probably wouldn\’t let them use taxpayers\’ money that way. We just wouldn\’t.\”
