Westchester NY School Library Destroyed by Lightening

Sad news…fire engulfed the historic stone library and damaged some adjoining classrooms Saturday at the private Hackley School in Tarrytown. A lightning strike apparently started the fire.

The school headmaster says the library lost all 30,000 of its books, periodicals and other items. He says it will cost at least a million dollars to rebuild. The school is setting up a restoration fund.
