As a part of National Children’s Book Week, November 18 – 24, library advocates from around the state will gather in Charleston on Monday, November 18
for a rally to be held on the Capitol steps from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Libraries, and their patrons, have been quiet for far too long. Members of the West Virginia Library Association believe that this is the time for libraries to make some noise…to be seen and heard…and believe that this rally will
emphasize just how important libraries are to everyone, regardless of age. Now is the time to let people know that
libraries across the state provide high quality programs and services in this information intensive age. Strong libraries
are vital to a strong West Virginia.

Those who wish to participate in the Rally for West Virginia Libraries should call Myra Ziegler at (304) 466-4490 or
come to the North Briefing Room at the Cultural Center in Charleston between 10:30 and 11:30a.m.on Monday
November 18. Signs will be provided. Dress warmly and wear a big smile.
