‘Well-Behaved’ Library Arsonist to Be Released

Sleiman El-Merhebi, who burned down a library in a Montreal Talmud Torah (Jewish day school), will be released after serving two years in prison for the April 2004 attack. This comports with Canadian sentencing guidelines, which allows release after two thirds of a sentence is completed if the prisoner is well behaved. News from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency .

    Sounds to me like a hate crime
    Should the prisoner be released for good behavior? Maybe he’ll just head back to jihad school…

    Why is this person being let out? Is it fear of terrorism? It was noted at the time of the fire that this was indeed a hate crime. Release the prisoner who commits a hate crime and he will do it again. Shouldn’t there be some indignation? Today Jewish institutions tomorrow others.
