Steven Bell and John Shank, co-founders of the Blended Librarians Online Learning Community, and their guests LearningTimes Green Room Co-hosts Susan Manning and Dan Balzer invite you to join the next Blended Librarian community event, “A Question of Relevance: Re-positioning the Academic library for the New Information Age” on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 1:00 pm EST.
Join our speakers for a conversation about the emerging technology tools and their impact on the role of librarians in the teaching and learning process. One potential barrier to the evolution of new roles and services is being wedded to library processes and services that may no longer fit well with our future. Manning and Balzer will bring their combined experience as educational technologists to guide our discussion on what we may need to stop doing to make space for new ideas and strategies. Our goal is to develop a robust picture of an “ideal library” and some action steps that could move all of us forward in achieving that vision in our own contexts and cultures.
