W. Chicago sees world’s largest book

An Anonymous Patron writes W. Chicago sees world’s largest book George Hawley donated his son Michael’s labor of love, “Bhutan: A Visual Odyssey Across the Last Himalayan Kingdom,” to the West Chicago Public Library in a ceremony Sunday.

The book is dubbed the largest in the world by the “Guinness Book of World Records.”

The book is a photo account of the small country located between China and India — a project the younger Hawley created to show vivid photos that children across the globe are similar despite cultural differences.

A blending of technology, engineering and creativity, the 133-pound book could cover a football field if its pages were spread out.”
