Vietnam gov’t to monitor Internet use

nbruce writes “Vietnam has ordered local governments nationwide to closely monitor Internet use and enforce regulations aimed at cracking down on “bad information” sent or read on the Web, an official said Tuesday.

There are an estimated 5,000 Internet cafes in Vietnam. About 4 million people out of Vietnam’s population of 81 million regularly use the Internet.
