Urine on books; library reports $3,900 loss

No one at the Bennett Martin Library knows for certain when it happened, why it happened or who did it, but the smell left no question as to what it was — someone urinated on the biographies bookshelf.

Tammy Teasley, coordinator of support services with Lincoln City Libraries, said she was removing older, outdated books from circulation Nov. 28 when she detected the odor in the “SCH” section of the biographies.

Teasley said every book that could have been hit has been removed and destroyed.
