TUSD to cut librarian, counselor positions

Bad News for school libraries in Tuscon, Arizona. In addition to moving forward in closing four elementary schools, the Tucson Unified School District board on Tuesday also decided to cut a half-time counselor or librarian at 45 schools and a full-time counselor or librarian at six schools.
Plus, the board voted to increase class sizes for first grade and, in some instances, for kindergarten.
