Trustees’ decision to close library could violate town’s bylaw

Mock Turtle writes “A board decision to close a Massachusetts public library temporarily because of lack of funds has come under scrutiny by the town selectmen. Concerned Williamsburg citizens have cited a bylaw stating that both town libraries must be “maintained in perpetuity as free public libraries for the permanent benefit of the inhabitants of the town.” Read about the Haydenville Library dispute here.”
