Travails of An Author, Mark Patinkin

An amusing story of an author, Mark Patinkin, and how he autographed his way around the US with his new book, “Up and Running.” Patinkin says, “The book is about a boy from Providence RI, Andrew Bateson, who lost both legs to bacterial meningitis but now plays ice hockey. It took more than two years to write. It turns out that was the easy part…” Patinkin goes on to mention that as the author of one of 60,000 new books this year, it’s not easy being noticed by stores and libraries.

He points out that if your book has neither of the words “Harry” or “Potter” in the title, it’s going to be a particularly tough sell.
