Thousands of library books saved

The CBC Reports A collection of more than 35,000 old university books has been saved from being recycled by students and staff at a school in Nelson.

The books were originally part of the David Thompson University Library, which closed several years ago.

Last year, the City of Nelson decided it couldn’t afford to keep the books in storage any longer. That triggered a book give-away, with 35,000 books given away to other libraries, schools and private citizens.
