Thirty-one novelists weigh in on Bush vs. Kerry

Anonymous Patron writes “Slate has an interesting article in which thirty-one prominent novelists, from John Updike and Joyce Carol Oates to Jonathan Franzen and Jonathan Safran Foer, weigh in on their choices in the upcoming Presidential election. The results: twenty-four plan to vote for Kerry, four for Bush, while three end up in a category of their own.”

    Hmmmm. Maybe that’s why Bush is opposed to stem cell research; he’s actually a Nixon clone — he certainly lies and flip-flops like Tricky-Dicky — and he mistakenly thinks stem cell research will result in a new and improved clone; so what’s he gonna do with himself once he’s obsolete? — live off social security?
