According to KIRO-TV in Seattle, librarian and model for the popular action figure doll will retire her shushing motion at the end of this summer, upon turning sixty. She has served as the Executive Director of the Washington Center for the Book at the Seattle Public Library for over ten years.
Nancy, we all wish you a wonderful retirement and hope the noisemakers really go to town at your birthday party!
Here’s to Nancy Pearl ….. she’s awesome.
I hope Nancy Pearl keeps doing her Book Lust stuff
Ahhh!
The cognitive dissonance!
Re:Ahhh! /. comments.
You’re not the only one who had that thought on seeing “real doll.” Definitely a sign I’ve read too many
Also, to be a little nitpicky, the article says she’s retiring this August and turning 60 in 2005, so she’s not retiring “upon turning sixty.”
Re:Ahhh!
Okay, retirement at age 59+, daidy. When I wrote the headline, I didn’t suspect that many (most?)of you guys instantaneously thought of a completely different plaything than the Librarian Action Figure.
