Wired Says several newspapers are about to take on news aggregators at their own game, offering their own branded newsreaders.
The Los Angeles Times, the Denver Post and British newspaper the Guardian will soon offer stand-alone newsreader software for reading stories on their own websites and those of their competitors.
Web-based aggregators
The Denver Post’s news aggregator is actually going to be a web-based one, so that users of their website will have a chance to read news from many sources, not just their newspaper. (It’s powered by NewsGator).
It’s an interesting role of information aggregator that libraries should watch. Isn’t this the 21st century equivalent of buying a bunch of newspaper subscriptions and putting the papers out in a reading room?

AHA
That’s one of those AHA statements that seems so obvious, though it’s the first time I’ve read it.
Good observation!
