One From The National Post on “The Bookseller of Kabul,” which chronicles Shah Mohammed Rais, an Afghan bookseller, family life in the Afghan capital after the fall of the Taliban in 2001.

Mr. Rais, who has devoted his life to protecting books, is suing the book’s author and her various publishers around the world. He says he is keenly aware of the devastating irony of his action — one that has also provoked some disturbing questions about the responsibilities of Western journalists when they write about people with radically different cultures.
