Talking Book Week in Texas

Mock Turtle writes “All across Texas, libraries are participating in Talking Book Week, September 13-20. The event raises awareness about library services for individuals with physical, visual, and learning disabilities that prevent them from reading standard print. One such service is the Talking Book Program, delivering books and magazines on tape as well as English, Spanish and Braille versions in large print, directly to eligible patrons’ homes. The program, which is funded by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Library of Congress, benefits more than 20,000 Texans each year.
