crime and punishment
Bullet in the head. Her family gets the bill.
Is there any reason why drunk drivers who kill shouldn’t be executed? Quickly? It’s not like they might be innocent.
Killing people
Killing people is wrong. No one should be executed for anything.
That is why we should not do that.
Suspect in crash that killed two Old Greenwich librarians arrest
Given the current charges against this individual, $50,000 seems a small sum for a bond.
Bond
Bond must be reasonable. It is reasonable to assume that a defendant with those particular charges will appear if the bond is 50K, but to set a bond at 5MM would be excessive.
Bond is not to make sure the defendant does not commit another crime, just that they appear to answer for the original crime.
Bond
In this story from a few days ago it looks like the bond for the initial accident was 50,000. I wonder if this charge will be an additional $50,000 or tied to the first bond?
Bond (II)
The bond for driving while revoked will probably be much less as it is a much less serious crime.
That said the court may revoke the bond for violation of conditions of the bond. It is also very likely that the surety (bondsman) will revoke the bond and return her to jail ‘off bond’ if she is released again. The surety can establish more stringent conditions for the bond than the Court. A standard condition of a bond is that the defendant not commit any crimes nor be arrested while on bond.
If the defendant is returned to custody off bond they are not entitled to a refund of the bond premium.
How many more?
What is going to take to get that monstrous woman off the roads once and for all? C’mon, those of you being “reasonable” on things like the bond or not executing her, c’mon, give the rest of us a magical number. How many more does that loser have to kill on the road before someone finally takes her off the roads once and for all be in prison (Or at the very least house arrest, for cripes sake). Two innocent people killed by this “lady” who had prior drunken driver offenses, and STILL driving? I really just want to know: how many more have to be killed before they do give her a 5 mill. bond or just plain refuse her bond and keep her out of the roads? She’s killed at least two already. Is that not enough? Then, what is the number?
Why????
What the hell is wrong with the city of Denver that they will not do something about this woman once & for all?
Bond; you only have to put up 10% to get out but still have that much available in a bank or on a mortgage.
This woman needs to be shown the autopsy results in photos and the photos of the wreck and sent to the morgue to first hand see the result of her selfishness. Put her on car accident clean-up crew….make it REAL and In Her Face, or just lock her away, because obviously she just does not “get it” nor is she willing to take responsibility for what she has done.
Maybe community service in the morgue, might make her a tad bit more sensitive to her selfish stupidity. But, it seems that as long as she has a vehicle available and the keys, then she is going to ignore the law and drive.
Now?
Should we not wait until she is convicted?
There is no car accident clean up crew, and if there were they would want trained personnel not drunks.
There is no community service at the medical examiner’s office.
Certainly I wish to see someone who commits a crime such as this punished to the full extent of the law, we must indeed follow the law and let it run its natural course.
