Surprise: James Frey Admits Fabrications in Second Book

One From The Book Standard says Author James Frey has admitted that significant portions of My Friend Leonard—the 2005 follow-up to his 2003 not-quite-a-memoir A Million Little Pieces—are fabricated, the AP reported today.

In the recently released paperback edition of Leonard, the author includes a note that says, “To call this book pure nonfiction would be inaccurate. It is a combination of fact and fiction, real and imagined events.†The hardcover edition of Leonard has sold more than 287,000 copies since it was published last June.
