Gary Price writes “News From St. Petersburg, Florida – The public library is a place everyone can use to look for information, find a book to read even home schooled children occasionally show up to do class projects.
The library director for the St Petersburg Library System has found one group that’s there Monday through Friday from 9:30am to about 3:00pm. Library Director Mary Gaines says Angela Sweet appears to be operating a school out of the library. Librarians say Sweet arrives at the library with a van load of kids anywhere from 5 to more than a dozen kids at a time.”
Our PL seemed to have two
distinct sets of hookers operating out of our building. One group on the public pay telephone, (we had to remove the ‘courtesy’ phone because of arguments with them), responding to pages, and another doing something with e-mails.
Why did we think they might we working girls? Well, they dressed like hookers, and sometimes their breasts would fall out of their clothing.
They also all seemed to get a lot of pages, which they immediately responded to on the telephone or e-mail. After a page, and a call from them, they would disappear and then re-appear about a half hour later, ready for more pages on their beepers.
They did not break any rules, so we let them stay. We did have to hear complaints from other patrons, though. Who knows who is running what out of the PL buildings.
Just more fun at the PL, I guess.

I guess hookers beats drug dealers. Fewer guns perhaps?
