Anonymous Patron writes “Yet More From South Dakota. The American Civil Liberties Union may challenge South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds’ effort to remove a Planned Parenthood link from a state website catering to teenagers.
“We are investigating what appears on the surface to be a case of censorship,” Jennifer Ring, director of the ACLU of the Dakotas, told the Associated Press. “The government has opened a public forum by including links to websites. When government opens a forum, it can regulate it in terms of time, place and manner, but not in terms of content.”
A spokesman for the Governor, Dale Bertsch, said the Governor’s office does not consider removing the teen section of the state library’s website an act of censorship.”
RE: South Dakota Library Removing Abortion Link ..
An alternative to removing this link would have been to add a link to the web site of a local crisis pregnancy center or to National Right to Life or Feminists for Life of America
Re: South Dakota Library Removing Abortion Link ..
I am a rabid anti-abortionist, I think planned parenthood is a vile disgusting organization. I also agree with you.
Putting my hands over my ears, squeezing my eyes shut and yelling no,no,no,no has never made anything go away so I stopped trying that at about age 4. PP is not going away anytime soon so perhaps balance on the website would be the right thing to do.
