South Dakota Library board will review Web sites

The Rapid City Journal Reports Gov. Mike Rounds will allow the South Dakota State Library Board to conduct a comprehensive review of its selection policies for Internet resources to make sure a coherent and up-to-date policy is in place, according to a member of the board.

Board member Eric Abrahamson of Rapid City said Thursday that Rounds told him during a telephone conversation that the board would conduct the review and that another panel will be looking at policies and procedures for all state Web sites that link to outside information sources.

“The good news there is the governor is firmly behind the state library board being responsible for the development of collection policies, which include online resources,” Abrahamson said.
