SLC Library Cancels Early Potter Read

Magical festivities are planned the night of June 20 at libraries and bookstores all over the world — including at the Salt Lake City Main Library, which announced its celebration would include readings of the book’s first chapter at 9 and 11 p.m.

Gary Jentel, vice president of trade sales at Scholastic put a stop to that.
“There is an embargo on any information regarding Harry Potter,” Jentel said. “Obviously, nothing can be shown to the public or read to the public . . . prior to 12:01 a.m. June 21.”
