Seven-year-old wins Friends of Library VW bug

Anonymous Patron writes Here’s A Funny One From Florida. 7 year old Connor Brown had the winning raffle ticket for the bright yellow Volkswagen Convertible Bug.
It was a very successful fund-raiser, according to all the members involved in putting it together over the last couple of months.

“The idea to sell raffle tickets for a VW Bug came from our old friend Raymond Riseberg,” Brown said.

The 500 tickets sold for $100 each.

The Michael King family from Pittsburgh gave the Friends of the Library a good deal on the car and a donation. They own a VW dealership in Pittsburgh.

Tickets for the fund-raiser sold in a variety of ways. Some sold through the mail-out sent to members and friends. People who came into the library purchased the majority of tickets for the car.”
