School Librarian Remembers Bears QB as Good Kid

From the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle: School librarian Bess Williams has followed the career of Chicago Bears quarterback Rex Grossman ever since he was in her first grade class at Rogers Elementary School in Bloomington, IN. A librarian for the past six years at Fairport High School (NY), Williams said,

The Friday before that (1988) Super Bowl, he asked me if I was going to watch the game. Then the Monday after the game, he came into class and gave me a play-by-play of all the important highlights of the game. I’ve never met someone so young who could tell you everything about football.

Williams recently sent Grossman a letter of support telling him to not “let the talking heads get you down,” but figures it got buried under a bunch of other mail.
