Sant George’s in Catalonia: the day of books and roses

Josep Vives writes “In November 1995, UNESCO declared the 23rd of April as World Book and Copyright Day. Among other reasons, this date was chosen as a result of the celebration of Saint George’s Day in Catalonia. This declaration has meant that, in recent years, the 23rd of April has become a point of reference for books all over the world. For more information, consult the UNESCO website.
