Romance is in the Air…Where? Could Be @ Your Library!

Just this past November, librarian Madeleine Lefebvre realized a lifelong dream…to author a book. It wasn’t the Harlequin-type romance that she had imagined she’d write one day…it was a book on a subject that she knew well and loved–libraries. The book is a compilation of true stories of how people fell in love, met their mates, had hearts broken and otherwise encountered cupid at the library…the title being of course “The Romance of Libraries.”

Lefebvre is an actor, a former President of the Canadian Library Association, and University Librarian at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax (NS) since 1999. Just last week, she did a wonderful one-on-one interview with guest host Bill Richardson on CBC…Sounds like Canada.

Listen here (scroll about half-way down, interview date was January 17)…and look for a review of her book on LISNews sometime next week…just in time for Valentines Day.
