Resource room teacher leaves thousands of books to children

Each of Grand Island’s (Nebraska) 45 kindergarten classrooms will share in the bounty of 5,000 books that have been donated by the late Nancy Winslow through her husband. The Journal Star says Nancy, a resource room teacher for Educational Service Unit 7 in Columbus, died in March.

She traveled from school to school, which sometimes made it difficult for her to have access to school libraries and books for her students, husband Terry Winslow said. Nancy collected the books over a period of about 15 years.
