Real librarians are service-oriented, not action-adventure oriented

Greg Hill is director of Fairbanks North Star Borough libraries and he has a column in The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner He writes:

That’s also why I’m a librarian. Most librarians are service-oriented and get a lot of gratification in helping people get desired information. Maybe that’s why I found it so distressing to watch “The Librarian,” an action-adventure made-for-TV movie about Flynn Carson, a daring librarian patterned more after archeologist Indiana Jones than any librarians I’ve known, and he’s cut from far cheaper cloth than Harrison Ford.
