daidy writes “This article talks about a promotion to be done by publisher Penguin Books. Men seen reading the selected book in public have the chance to get a prize from the Good Booking Girl.”
In a bid to lure men in Britain away from TV soccer games and into book shops, publisher Penguin Books will send out a sexy model to offer 1,000-pound ($1,837) prizes to males spotted reading a selected title.
This won’t change anything
The guys caught reading (thanks for the slogan, ALA) will, of course, just be those guys that read a lot in public anyway. Who, I suspect, don’t watch too much football in the first place.
Website for the promotion
Good Booking and another article that doesn’t seem to agree on the details of the promotion
Re:Website for the promotion
I like the content icons for the book list, though Stupid White Men ought to have the sex icon, too.
So, is the Good Booking Girl reading all these books? And is she one of the 85% of women with whom a guy’s more likely to get a date by talking about a favorite book? These are important questions the articles and website don’t seem to answer!
