Rankin most-borrowed author in Scottish libraries

Anonymous Patron writes Scotsman.com Reports the crime author Ian Rankin has topped the library lending list in Scotland, while authors who aim at youngsters lead the UK-wide table.

The children’s writer Jacqueline Wilson was the UK’s most-borrowed author, with her books taken out more than two million times in the 12 months to July 2004. Another children’s author, the best-selling picture-book artist and writer Mick Inkpen, came in sixth.
