Public libraries face budget shortfalls in Katrina’s wake

KATC Channel 3, Acadiana’s NewsChannel brings us this from the AP wire:
“Some public libraries on the hurricane-damaged Mississippi Gulf Coast are facing severe budget shortfalls.

“At least ten public libraries from the Hancock County community of Pearlington to Pascagoula were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Libraries are mainly funded by city and county taxes and their tax bases were wiped out by the August 29th storm.”
