Intersting, but just MARC would be even better
This looks interesting. I just downloaded one of the MARC files and plan to import it into one of the F/OSS library management systems I have installed tonight. The files seem to have some non-MARC data in them (RDF tags and such), so I’ll have to clean them out first. I am a little disappointed about that as I’d like to just download and load.
Re:Intersting, but just MARC would be even better … it looks like the MARC is corrupt. I’ve emailed the PG admin and requested they rebuild the MARC file, which should happen in the next day (I hope). Looks like they changed the RDF structure and broke my original script. Sigh.

Well, it looks like this is now fixed. The file is available, and is pure MARC, without corruption, and should be loadable to a catalog without further massage.

This is a great idea. I downloaded the file just now (and last night). It would be preferable if the control number were in tag 001, instead of 000.
The current file appears to be corrupt around record 14. When I try to open it using MarcEdit or ITS for Windows, I see only 14 records.
When I run the file through one of the Perl scripts I have for checking MARC files for errors [1], I get messages:

Last night’s download seemed to go better–I think I made it through the entire file, although there were a number of similar warnings (mainly about improper indicators).
