Interesting Tidbit out of Iran, where President Mohammad Khatami said on Monday that book is the key for advancement of the international community and the goal is attainable with education in schools.
The president said in a message to Minister of Education Mortezahaji to mark opening of 25,000 book exhibits in the schools across the country that the book is the illuminating feature of thought which has been effective in promoting social and historical task of the human being.
Notwithstanding, presence of other communication means for exchange of cultural concepts, the book plays the most effective role in education and promoting the social development, the president said.
The education ministry opened 25,000 book exhibits nationwide with a ceremony at Alborz High School, Tehran.
