Library employees help apprehend sex offender
My wife and I saw this report on our local news in southwestern Missouri last night. It was prefaced as “librarians help apprehend sex offender”. The employees at the Des Moines Public Library should be applauded for their bravery and doing the right thing. I hope that employees at other libraries would react similarly.
Downside to the internet
This is a downside to the internet that I have noticed at my own library. Too many parents, or babysitters, come into the library to use the interent, and then let they children run around unattended while they surf. Which is even worse than the ones that have the baby in the stoller, and then keep shushing the baby and telling it “I’ll only be another minute… just be quiet, we’re in the library.” FOR GOD’S SAKE, YOUR CHILD IS 7 MONTHS OLD AND DOESN’T UNDERSTAND A WORD YOU’RE SAYING AND IS BORED. Thanks for letting me rant.
