Penguin Putnam yields on Katie.com

Anonymous Patron writes “Katie Sez Penguin Puttnam have finally decided to do the right thing and rename the silly Katie.com book.

Penguin Puttnam has a Press Release up on their web site. Going forward, Plume and the author have decided to re-title this book A Girl’s Life Online. Good to see they came around and did the right thing.”

    Good timing.
    By changing the name now Penguin is getting free advertising for the book. If you want a cheap copy of the book you can get one for $3 at http://www.bookcloseouts.com

    This book might be an interesting collectors item because of the name change of the book.

    Book had been out four years.
    Katie.com has been out for four years. By renaming the book Penguin is receiving free advertising about the book. Penguin is the winner here. They hung on to the domain name for four years. Then when sales are wrapping up they change the name, get free publicity, and sell another round of books.
