Northire Bookstore Celebrates Thirty Years of Bookselling

While independent bookstores around the country are disappearing by the dozens, cut down by both the chain bookstores and internet book sales, Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, VT is still going strong at age 30. Publishers, authors, and most recently, Publishers Weekly, who honored the bookstore with its “Bookseller of the Year” award, all concur that it’s a dynamo. Owners Ed and Barbara Morrow, and manager-son Chris, reported “We’ve heard from a number of authors and publishers that we deal with since the announcement of the PW award, and a lot of people have been saying, ‘We thought you already won that.”

Story from the Bennington Banner and here’s the store’s website, where you can order any book you wish…same as Amazon, but you’re helping to support an independent store.
