Newspaper Sues Library Over Billing Records

In an earlier story about the money woes at the Marion County (Indianapolis) Library, the Indy Star newspaper had requested billing records for a $380,000 debt the library had acquired for legal and consulting fees regarding an expansion project. The story has taken another turn. The Indy Star has sued the library for access to those records. The editor stated that “The library project is now the costliest active project in Indianapolis and with much at stake involving construction issues there needs to be accountability.” The library’s legal firm has said they will turn over the records, after they delete some “confidential material.” Read More.
