New Indianapolis Library Deserves a ‘Whoop of Joy’

Architecture critic Lawrence W. Cheek (Seattle Post-Intelligencer) reports via the Indianapolis Star… “It’s beautiful on the outside, dramatic inside in places where theatrics don’t sabotage its practical mission.” After years of delays and significant cost overruns, the new Indianapolis Central Library, combining a glass wing with a classic 1917 Paul Cret building “engages the outside world instead of forming a refuge from it.”
