Seth Finkelstein writes “Jessamyn West
reports: The entire
jessamyn.com universe is
still blocked by N2H2 as “pornography”
which would be amusing if it weren’t so wrong. Keep this
in mind when you read stats like those from
N2H2’s
press releases saying that “N2H2 now has identified over 260
million pages classified as pornography.” 350 of those pages are mine.”
Seth Finkelstein adds, “See my now-dead

N2H2 “State Secrets” – PR and lying with statistics“
Well, it’s fairly obvious why
It’s all those naked librarians!
Of course, the only ones hosted on the site are the bookplates, but she links to real naked people (or silicone replicas, at least), and linking is eeevil.
Irony, the racy site is *not* blacklisted!
And irony, the racy bookmarks (on a different site), are NOT blacklisted at all!

here’s another racy bookmark!
in my book…you’re voluminous
According to my very interesting Urchin stats, it’s the most VISITED style image, but the least PURCHASED. Lots of voyeurs out there, but do they use bookmarks?!
Re:Irony, the racy site is *not* blacklisted!
And, to be fair, if one searches there are a few images on jessamyn.com that could be construed as pornographic, and a few more naked pictures. I was contacted by N2H2 [Bess] a while ago basically saying “Gee we’d love to not ban your site, think you could remove the porn images?” and I said that I thought the images were well-removed enough that they would only be accessed by people deliberately looking for them and we’re talking 3-6 images out of a site with 350 pages and probably a thousand images….. details are here, scroll to July 7. This exchange, I believe, resulted in the banning of my entire site.
