Missouri Educators Worried about School Library Funding

A law before the Missouri legislature that would require more spending on classroom instruction would, effectively, slash school library budgets, because of the narrow definitions in the bill.

Todd Fuller, spokesman for Missouri State Teachers Association said that
libraries are not included in the federal definition. “Library instruction is just as important when it comes to the idea of classroom instruction and needs to be included,” he said.
