    Okay, I think that would include me. While I don’t agree with the idea of “correcting” a wife, as the article puts it, I don’t see a good reason that this needs to be censored. I’ve always been leery of anything that supposedly “incites violence” against something. By their logic, why can’t we censor Ms. magazine or The SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) Manifesto by Valerie Solanis because they incite violence against men? Wouldn’t books about war incite violence too? And going further, would reading The Joy of Sex incite me to rape someone?

    There are very few instances where it’s okay to beat the hell out of someone, and none of them involve “correcting” them. But I think we have to realize that there are cultures in the world where the oppression of women is not only acceptable, but expected. If we are to ever solve that problem, we have to know how these people think and why. When someone writes a book like this, they’re opening a window into that culture and we can see the reasoning behind the behavior, or in this case the method behind the madness. If we censor that work we cheat ourselves of the opportunity to learn from it and, hopefully, truly correct it.
