Santa Clarita (CA) Mayor Laurene Weste strode into a room of the Valencia Library on Wednesday wearing a red, white and blue sweater emblazoned with stars and stripes. The occasion was National Library Week, and she came to read.
Weste took her seat before 90 preschoolers and their mothers, adjusted her glasses, and read ‘The Best Pet of All’ about a wily young boy who tricks his mother into giving him a dog after she initially protests. Cute photo and the rest of the story here.
