Manila: Public school librarians are “have nots”

From Manila (Philippines), a March 6 article about the problems encountered by public school librarians. Even though they are computer literate and have been trained in the use of UNESCO’s open source integrated library system, most public school libraries have no computers. Funding is a very big problem: even when they can find a grant, the money is often diverted by someone higher up for other projects. [Manila Bulletin Online]
