MA Town Hall, library workers seek to form union

Anonymous Patron writes “Town Hall and library employees in Groton, Massachusetts Have Requested representatiion from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU Local 888), and asked for voluntary recognition, meaning they want selectmen to approve their union without opposition.
“Yeah, I think we saw it coming,” said Selectman Peter Cunningham, who added he was unaware of the employees’ reasons for wanting to organize. But if employees are looking for more money, Cunningham said that would be difficult given the town’s tight budget.”
