hollysue writes “From the Columbian in Vancouver, WA comes an article about how the city hopes a new main library will help revitalize its downtown area:
“Downtowns are a place for people to live, work, play and shop. But even the district’s advocates say Vancouver still has a way to go on the play and shopping pieces.
A 90,000-square-foot library, which took a giant step forward when voters approved a $43 million bond measure in September, could provide an infusion of people when it’s built as part of the $165 million Riverwest project.”

gmail
In my non-work life (aka fannish life), I use gmail as my primary email–and while the spam folder grows daily, I almost never get spam in my inbox. Very, very occasionally, I do, but once I mark it spam, I don’t seem to get similar ones again. And I haven’t had it mark any of my personal mail (including ML stuff) as spam in over a year.
I love gmail and its features; I almost wish I could use it for work. I’m used to the “conversation” set up of the messages now, which, with the mailing lists I belong to is actually quite helpful.
At work, spam filtering is…chancey. For a period of time, I’ll go along hardly getting any spam and then I’ll have times where I’m getting all these wonderful messages about finances and a few which are sexually oriented–luckily I get more financial stuff!
Oh, and if anyone wants an invite to gmail, I’ve got a few left. *G*
