Phyllis Christenson Consultants, Inc. is seeking qualified librarians to fill consultancy vacancies nationwide. P.C. Consultants, a newly-formed consulting firm specializing in media relations during library reorganizations, is uniquely positioned to influence local media outlets in situations of budget constraints on behalf of library directors. By leveraging common assumptions about the different requirements of libraries and their roles as community centers, our consultants specialize in preserving the compensation packages of library directors while restricting the effects of budget constraints to entry-level librarians.

I saw this as well. You didn’t publish the URL that was associated with this ad. If you click on that ad, you would referred to a news article describing the downsizing of a library in Wisconsin managed by Phyllis Christenson.

Unprofessional & tacky
I believe this sort of thing has no place on LIS News. It’s one thing to criticize an administrative decision made at another library. It’s another thing to aim a personal attack on the director of that library.
The published news reports give very little information about the political or budgetary background of this decision. Without this information comments of this sort are unfair.

The director of this library cut the pay of her librarian I’s while telling the media how their work was “less complex.”

Many of us on other listservs expect we know who initiated it. It demonstrates why that person has had unemployment problems with bombarding every possible listserv with a very childish reaction to a real world situation. You must question the person’s behavior or maturity if this is how they respond to a negative situation.
